Sanctuary is the word that comes to mind when I think of our cottage and our 20 acres. A place where Brian and I can finally be alone. Ahhh. Breathing room. It makes me take a deep breath just thinking about it. A home. A home that's ours. Finally. A little corner of the world for us to carve out and make our own. A canvas for our hopes and dreams. A real future. Birds chirping. Dappled light. Bunnies running to and fro. Peace and quiet. Laughter. Love. Life. It makes my heart float just thinking about it.

Yes some home in OK are in sad shape but how much would you 20 acres have cost you in NH. Sold my cokkie cuttter home in dallas bought land in OK and built myself a cord wood home. Welcome to one of the last places of resonable land and boot strap do it your self work ethic.

You're absolutely right! We would have never been able to afford 20 acres in NH, and probably couldn't have bought even the shabbiest of houses. Out here I feel like a real pioneer!

PS. I didn't mean that ALL of the houses looked like armpits--just the ones in our price range.
